Vitamin ‘K’ and Its Sources

Vitamin ‘K’ is an anti-haemorrhagic or coagulation vitamin. It assistant in the formation of prothrombin by the liver and furthers normal coagulation of the blood. The absence of deficiency of vitamin-K leads to the development of haemorrhagic manifestations. Anti-haemorrhagic factor-essential for the formation of prothrombin of blood.hence essential for blood clotting.
Sources
Vegetable source are rich,such as cabbage, spinach alfalfa, tomato, soya been etc.
Deficiency Signs
Defeats blood coagulation and haemorrhage.
Dose and Administration
Vitamin K 1 Tablet /Capsule per day
Severe conditions 2 Capsule daily (Do not use for children below 12-18 weeks 12 year)
