Aspirin and Its Uses

Aspirin is used in fever and pain. Aspirin is analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory in nature. It relieves headache, toothache, body aches, muscular pain etc. It is used as anti-inflammatory agents in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatic fever, osteoarthritis and other rheumatic condition.
Dose and Administration
Adults 1 Tablet thrice daily.
Doses are repeated if necessary
Side Effects
Nausea, Vomiting etc. Acute over dose produces headache, dim-vision, dizziness, thirst, sweating, allergic or asthmatic reaction, dehydration, hyperthermia, hyperventilation.
Precautions
Aspirin should no longer be given to children under 12 years of age. Do not give aspirin to the patient having colic pain, nausea etc.
