Lalitpur, Jan 23 : Engineer and Academician Dr. Sunil Babu Shrestha assumed the office as the vice-chancellor of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST). He was appointed on the post on January 16 for a four-year term. He had served as a member of National Planning Commission with portfolio covering Housing and Urban Development; Water Supply and Sanitation; Science and Technology; and Public Private Partnership. Dr. Shrestha has over 20 years of experience working in private, government and non-government organizations in different professional and administrative capacities.
On the occasion, the new Vice-Chancellor promised to keep the organisation ahead with the motto of ‘Science for Society’ and prepare the NAST strategic plan by the next two months. He vowed the better participation of youths and women in the field of science and technology, and to find out the scientific indigenous technology by establishing the scientific projects during his tenure. Former Minister for Science and Technology Ganesh Shah was also present on the occasion.
